Butuan City, Philippines – A transformative week-long event titled “Love Wins: Embracing the Power of Forgiveness” concluded with the baptism of twelve individuals at the Pagatpatan Adventist Church. Held from December 8 to 14, 2024, the series was spearheaded by Pastor Jemuel Dela Peña, district pastor of the Butuan Metro District, with support from the Communication Department of the Northeastern Mindanao Mission.
The program featured insightful presentations by Pastor Meljoie Pepito, Communication and Public Affairs and Religious Liberty (PARL) Director, who delved into the significance of forgiveness in the Christian faith.
On Sabbath, attendees benefited from lectures by Dante Villas, host of the Adventist World Radio (AWR) program, who discussed the Fundamental Beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and Glaiza Faith Andrade, who addressed Mental Health. In addition to the lectures, six children together with their parents renewed their commitment to the Lord through child dedication.
The series emphasized themes such as The Divine Model of Forgiveness, Forgiveness in the Context of the Great Controversy, Love in Action—Forgiveness and the Ten Commandments, Nourishing the Soul, The Sabbath and Forgiveness, and Living a Life of Gratitude and Grace. The culmination of the event was marked by the baptism of twelve individuals, symbolizing a renewed commitment to faith and the transformative power of forgiveness.
